Interesting facts about wood

REGIONAL AND CENTRAL EUROPEAN WOOD

SUSTAINABILITY & REGIONALITY: Domestic timber comes from regional forests, which means
that it can often be managed more sustainably. Transport routes are shorter, which reduces CO2 emissions.

ECOLOGICAL ADVANTAGES: The use of native timber supports local biodiversity and promotes the conservation of native forests. This can also help to protect the habitat for humans and animals.

ECONOMIC SUPPORT: The purchase of domestic timber strengthens the local economy and creates
jobs in the forestry and timber industry. The additional solid wood character in the veneer composition results in less waste, so we produce in a more resource-efficient way.

AESTHETICS & AUTHENTICITY: Many domestic timber varieties have an appealing look and grain, which is ideal for making furniture and is authentic due to their regionality. We are proud to use local timber varieties.

REDUCED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: As domestic timber does not have to be transported
over long distances, the ecological footprint is less than that of widely imported wood species (tropical oroverseas wood species). Faster and constant availability is also ensured.

TRADITIONAL CRAFTSMANSHIP: The use of domestic timber promotes traditional
craftsmanship.

VARIETY: In many regions, there is a wide variety of native timber species that offer different properties and are suitable for a range of applications.

Overall, there are many reasons in favour of using local woods, both from an ecological and an economic point of view.
